About Us
Welcome to LS Longhorns, where tradition meets the future of cattle ranching. Born from the legacy of (Linda & Stonny), our ranch has been a cornerstone in the heart of our family since the 1950s, when my Great Grandaddy began this journey with Brahman and Jersey milk cows on these hills and hollers of Ripley, Mississippi.
Over the decades, our lands have seen various cattle breeds, but it's the Texas Longhorn that now predominantly roams our fields, a testament to the rugged and storied history of this region. Our family's commitment to livestock isn't new; it's woven into the fabric of our heritage.
Linda, my mother, along with my grandfather, once bred registered quarter horses right here. The spirit of those days lingers, especially in the spot where my grandfather's rodeo bucking chutes stood from 1965 to 1972, now repurposed for our P&C Chute, blending old stories with new operations.
The 1990s saw us diversify with Red Stag deer, a venture my mother embarked on, adding another layer to our ranch's rich biodiversity. Today, while we continue to maintain a few of these majestic creatures, our focus has shifted back to cattle.
My cousin now shares our passion, raising black angus and black white face on our land, bringing in a collaborative spirit that enhances our operations. Meanwhile, I'm proud to carry forward the legacy on my mother’s land, where I raise registered Texas Longhorns. These longhorns are not just livestock; they are a symbol of resilience, history, and the American frontier spirit.
At LS Longhorns, every cow, every calf, tells a story of perseverance, innovation, and a deep-rooted love for the land and its creatures. We invite you to join us on this journey, to experience not just cattle ranching, but a piece of living history where every day is a new chapter in our ongoing story.
Here at LS Longhorns, we're not just raising cattle; we're preserving a legacy, one horn at a time.
